If you are no longer able to work and the condition that is preventing you from working is expected to last or has lasted a minimum of 12 months, you may be entitled to Social Security Disability or Social Security Supplemental Insurance.  Many people who apply for Social Security Disability are turned down after the first application.  Approximately 60% of cases that are appealed do receive a favorable decision by an administrative law judge.  If you have been turned down for benefits, remember that you have only 60 days to appeal the decision.  Our firm has been successful in having favorable outcomes in the appeal stage.
